The Danish Association of Visual Artists will again participate this year at the Folkemødet on Bornholm with debate events on art, AI, copyright and cultural financing. BKF's representative Marie Thams will participate in several conversations and panel debates during the days. Below you will find an overview of the program.

How can you rewrite art history in a world of AI?

Lex – Denmark's National Encyclopedia has received support for a new ambitious project with the Danish Artists' Encyclopedia, which will ensure freely accessible, research-based and updated biographies of Danish visual artists and architects from the earliest times to the present day.
The project also focuses on how art history can be rewritten in a time characterized by AI and misinformation, so that previously overlooked artists are given a place.
Director of Lex – Denmark's National Encyclopedia Ole Mølgaard meets BKF's representative and visual artist Marie Thams in a conversation moderated by Iben Maria Zeuthen.

The influence of private foundations on Danish cultural life

How do billions in grants from private foundations affect Danish cultural life? And what significance does the interaction between private grants and public funds have for the conditions of the arts in Denmark?
Statistics Denmark presents new statistics on foundations' activities and awards, after which a panel with representatives from the foundation world and cultural life discusses the foundations' influence on what is shown, supported and prioritized in Danish art and cultural life.

Take the money and run – Artists' finances in a copyright-free time

The typical visual artist has an annual income of a fraction of that of a cashier. Copyright is therefore crucial to many artists' ability to make a living from their work – but copyright infringements often have few consequences.
The debate focuses on the financial conditions of visual artists and asks, among other things:
- What does copyright mean for visual artists and designers?
- What does it cost to infringe a copyright?
- Should it cost more – and how?
