OPEN CALL: Participate in the first Nordic and Baltic conference focusing on diversity in the cultural industry: 27-28. November 2024 and 16-17. January 2025
We are happy to announce that Balansekunst and Art & Culture in Balance are offering two conferences together - in Oslo and in Copenhagen. Our partnership is about getting the Nordics and the Baltics to cooperate, share knowledge and inspire each other in the work to create a more diverse and diverse cultural industry.
There is so much knowledge out there and we believe that the organizations that work with diversity are experts in the field. The conferences are therefore not only about getting input from hand-picked experts, but also about you sharing your knowledge and methods in order to inspire others. That is why we are now sending out an Open Call. We want to be sure that everyone who participates is invested and willing to share their knowledge and methods during the conferences.
The conferences consist of presentations from organizations that work with inclusion and diversity under themes such as access and recruitment, facilitated group work, networking lunches and an excursion to an organization that will share their methods.
The conferences take place:
Oslo: 28-29 November 2024
Copenhagen: 16-17 January 2025
Two full days: 11-17, at 9-16
Application
Before applying, please consider the following:
- Are you able to cover the costs of travel and accommodation
- That you have time and will prioritize the conferences
In the application, we need this information (you can apply in English, Norwegian, Danish or Swedish)
- Name, contact information, country and industry
- Your professional commitment to participate
- A case that deals with diversity/ and or diversity in the cultural industry (it could be a project you are working on, initiative or network you are part of, an organization or the like)
- Which conference you would like to attend (you can choose both or one of them)
We want to have a broad representation from the Nordic and Baltic countries. In processing the applications, we consider the following:
- Geography: To be able to get a broad representation
- Cultural sector: We want representation from all parts of cultural life
- Your motivation for participating
* If you apply, you also give a commitment to want to participate
The conferences are free. The participants themselves must bear the costs of:
- Travel and accommodation
- Meals; except lunch both days
We will send a detailed program as well as instructions for hotel, transport, etc. to all participants. The presentations are held in English. Group work is generally held in English.
You have the option of applying for travel reimbursement from various funds. We are happy to send a formal invitation if you would like to apply for travel reimbursement.
The conferences are held at locations that have wheelchair access and are close to public transport. Presentations are given with a microphone. There is no hearing aid available.
