Fatamorgana photography school: cyanotopia on paper and fabric

The workshop is for those of you who already have your feet firmly planted in the creative field, but perhaps lack a space to open up your work and share it with others.

This workshop is your opportunity to bring a project you are already working on to its final destination – or to utilize ideas that have been sitting in a drawer waiting to come to life. We meet as a small, focused community, where you get space for your expression and a spacious framework to explore the process – without pressure, but with presence and professionalism.

During our days together, we will come to the following:

Cyanotype on paper and fabric: A thorough and practical introduction to cyanotype with paper and fabric as image-bearing materials. We primarily work with the photogram method, where different transparent materials and objects form the basis for the construction of the motif. Along the way, you will gain insight into chemistry, coating, exposure and development, and we will examine how different types of paper and fabrics affect the expression and tactile quality of the image. The focus is on building a safe, controlled work process and on developing your personal image signature.

Toning Cyanotypes: Here we will cover post-processing and toning, designed to enhance the color and mood patterns of your cyanotypes. We will work with natural toning methods (such as avocado, walnut, coffee, tea, and red wine) as well as chemical-based processes. You will gain insight into how toning affects contrast, color, and overall expression, and how you can consciously use toning to enhance your narrative and imagery.

Participation fee: 1500,-

Material fee: 300,-

Materials costs include 250 ml of chemistry (approximately 100 images), paper, fabric and other materials used in connection with the course. Materials costs also include the loan of all equipment needed in connection with the course.

Extra chemicals can be purchased for DKK 250 per 250 ml.

Cancellation:

A deposit of 25% of the course price is required upon registration. This amount is not refundable upon cancellation.

After the payment deadline, your registration is binding. Should you choose to miss the class, or if you pay via an installment plan, you are still obligated to pay the full participation fee.

Fatamorgana reserves the right to cancel the Masterclass due to an insufficient number of participants, the teacher's illness or similar compelling circumstances.

In the event of cancellation, we will refund the participation fee paid.
