Ovation course: Economically sustainable business
What is Ovation?
Ovation is a course for you who are an ambitious artist or creative entrepreneur with a goal of developing an economically sustainable business within art, culture or the creative industries. Ovation is offered by Slagteriet in Holstebro in collaboration with, among others, Godsbanen, Maltfabrikken and Kulturværftet as well as a wide range of other cultural actors throughout Denmark.
Who is Ovation aimed at?
Ovation is aimed at artists, cultural creators and creative entrepreneurs who want to further develop or build their business.
As a participant in the course you will receive:
– help and tools to create a concrete action plan for your business/project
– a valuable network of co-entrepreneurs within the arts and culture industry
– advice, input, criticism and inspiration from the other participants and advisors
After the course, you will have a clear plan to further develop your project or business and a network that can help you later when you encounter challenges.
How does the process work?
The Ovation competency course takes place online and you will be part of a group of max. 12 people. The sessions are facilitated by an experienced business developer with a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities you face as an artist or creative entrepreneur. Pedagogically, Ovation is based on 'reverse classroom' and case-based learning, which means that all learning takes place based on you working concretely with your company or project. At the same time, before each session there will be preparation in the form of learning videos and work with various tools. The program runs over 6 weeks with 10 workshop sessions of 90-120 minutes. You are offered individual follow-up and guidance from our advisors on an ongoing basis.
Community and network
As a participant at Ovation, you also get access to a network of +100 other like-minded people who have also participated at Ovation. In this community, there are ongoing webinars and presentations with various professional themes such as; “Fundraising & Support”, “Branding via SoMe” and “Sales for Creatives” and the like. You can also reach out to the network if you have questions or a specific need for help, collaboration partners or the like.

Price and application
If you want to participate in Ovation, apply via the form below. You will be notified approximately two weeks before the course starts whether you have been awarded a place. There is a personal payment of DKK 1950 (incl. VAT) – If you are a team of 2 or more, you pay per person as a participant. The course collaborates with the Tuborg Foundation, the Færch Foundation, Region Midt and the Artists' Union, which is why the price can be kept so low.
