The Municipality of Copenhagen hereby wishes to inform you about the possibility of applying for a grant for the beautification of the city and the common good, which supports art and decoration projects in public spaces in the Municipality of Copenhagen.
The purpose of the grant is to promote art and decoration projects that contribute to the beautification of the city and the general good. In 2026, approximately DKK 850.000 will be awarded. The grant is awarded once a year.
Application deadline
The application period is from August 1 to August 31, 2026. Please note that the application period has been shortened so that applicants can receive a response before the end of the year.
Who can apply and which projects are supported?
The grant supports projects that meet one or more of the following principles:
- Involving projects, where art and/or green projects are created through inclusive, involving and voluntary processes.
- High-profile art projects, preferably in collaboration with art institutions, organizations or authorities. Privately initiated projects may also be considered.
- Invited projects where cooperation is established with Area Renewal Secretariats, housing companies or other public companies, etc.
- Projects where a larger, more permanent decoration is created through competition at a pre-designated location.
Application content
An application must contain:
- A project description
- A detailed budget, including costs for wages and materials
- Information on which of the four purposes of the grant support is being sought
- A financing plan
- Information about any support sought or received from other sources

Previous recipients of the grant include art competitions, citizen-involved exhibitions, gable paintings and mosaic decorations.
