Thatched half-timbered house, where the writer Bertolt Brecht, as a refugee from Nazi Germany, lived from 1933-39. Today, the house is made available to people from all over the world who – for a period – need quiet for artistic or scientific work. The house is located on Skovsbo Strand, 3 km west of Svendborg's centre/harbour and quite close to the strait. There is no application form and applications are processed on an ongoing basis.

Guldagergaard is an international center for the development of ceramic art, craft and design. Artisans, designers and visual artists from all over the world can apply for a workshop stay of 1-6 months duration to develop ceramic projects of practical, technical, artistic or art-theoretical importance. Every year, the Foundation distributes a few weeks' work stay in one of the hotel's smaller apartments with its own kitchen. The weeks are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 as well as 46, 47, 48 and 49. Normally a stay of 1-2 weeks is granted, but in principle you can apply for unlimited time. The stays are free, and you get a fixed amount of DKK 500 to cover travel expenses. You are at your own expense. In connection with the hotel, there is a studio. The application must contain a brief explanation of what the stay is intended to be used for. The application deadline is 1 October.

Klitgården is a refuge for, among other things, artists who need to be able to concentrate on a project or a work. There is room for a total of 15 people, who all get a room with a desk and access to a common room. In addition, there are three studios – where in one is a ceramic oven of 100 liters and an electric turntable. Three daily meals are served. Grants are periodically made available for artists to work at Klitgården from various foundations. These grants usually cover the living expenses at Klitgården for 2 weeks, apart from a personal payment of DKK 110/day.
There are two annual application deadlines: 31 March and 30 September. Applications with a description of the intentions for the stay and CV must be sent directly to Klitgården Fonden. To be considered, you must be a member of one of the Danish Artists Council's member organizations (including BKF) and not have received a corresponding grant in the past 2 years.

The Creativity House in Lildstrand is located in the old merchant's farm on the northernmost point in Jammerbugten on Denmark's most sparsely populated stretch of coast. Our nearest neighbor is the Bulbjerg bird mountain, and the Vejlerne bird reserve is not far away. Here on the edge of the sea, you hear no other sound than the wind, the waves and the birds. We want to put this unique nature into play in the creative space.
The workshops, course and lecture facilities as well as the artist residence and rooms can be used throughout the year. Our creative workshop is set up for ceramics, graphics and textiles, we have easels – both large and small – and the old shop is suitable for painting courses, exhibitions, open workshops etc. Our artist residence and rooms are comfortably furnished. The entire ground floor is disabled-friendly.

Kunsthal vARTe is a non-profit sanctuary / residency, exhibition space and open studio for professional and serious artists. The artists can apply for a stay of one month. You do not have to pay for the stay with an amount, but contribute to the operation with a work of art.
Kunsthal vARTe's premises contain a total of 333 m2, divided by 170 m2 into two exhibition rooms, 101 m2 studio and an artist residence of 62 m2. In addition, there is a cozy little cobbled yard with a cafe table and chairs. The studio/workshop contains a kitchen with two hobs, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer as well as work tables and chairs. There is also an attached bathroom. In the back room there is a work table with sink, space for storage and a small guest toilet with sink.
In the artist's residence, there is a cozy nook, two sleeping places and an office space. Everything is newly renovated and there is free internet.

The house is located in the village of Sødinge in Midtfyn and contains a study, a large living room and two bedrooms with a total of four beds. There is an annex building with a studio of 40 m2. Duration of stay is typically one month, possibly more. Price per month in the period May-September is DKK 3.700 per month + consumption of electricity and heat. The rest of the year (October-April) the price is DKK 2.700 per month + consumption that exceeds DKK 2.000. Available periods are announced on the website.

Art residence 1. is 45 m2 and contains a bedroom (2nd pers.), bathroom with washing machine and living room with kitchen/studio. There is an easel, TV and music system. The home is newly renovated. Rented out all year and members of BKF get a special price of DKK 1200 per week + consumption DKK 300.
Art residence 2. is located at the western end of the farmhouse and is 65m2 and contains a separate kitchen, large room with a wood-burning stove, which is divided into a bedroom (2 pers.) and a study with easel, bathroom. Rented out all year and preferably for a longer lease. Members of BKF receive a special price of DKK 1400 per week + consumption DKK 350, and DKK 4.600 per week. month + consumption DKK 1.200

Tranum Strandgård is uniquely located 300 m from the North Sea in Jammerbugten, which is 3 km. To Lien Bakker and approx. 20 km to Blokhus.
There are two artists' residences in Bovins Hus (Fyrassistentboligen) on Hirsholmene. The homes are designed for 2 and 4 people. One has a studio with a skylight arranged in a small outbuilding. There are only 6 permanent residents on Hirsholmene, which is a three-quarter boat ride from Frederikshavn. The islands, which are owned by the Norwegian Nature Agency, are a total of 45 ha and are a nature reserve.
Work stays of at least one month's duration on Hirsholmene can be granted.
You cannot currently apply for residence at Hirsholmene.

The Kongegaard Foundation makes two freehold apartments in Kongegaarden available to professionally trained visual and sound artists. Artists who work experimentally and preferably in an interdisciplinary and aesthetic field are especially encouraged to apply. According to need and project, we offer professional and artistic sparring.
For both residences, there is direct access to the concert hall and a Steinway grand piano, which may can be used by agreement. Likewise, by agreement and project, visual and sound artists can gain access to Kongegaarden X, which is a 6 meter high and 250 square meter production and exhibition space in the former glass factory.

Læsø AIR offers professional Danish visual artists stays of 4 and 6 weeks. Professional foreign (non-Danish) visual artists can apply for a stay of 12 weeks. A Danish and a foreign artist can participate in the program at the same time during a stay in Per Kirkeby's former artist residence. The aim of Læsø AiR's program for professional visual artists is to support the development of the artists' practice and promote the exchange between Danish and foreign artists and the Danish art scene. It covers i.a. travel costs (economy class) Læsø round trip and a monthly stipend of 7500 DKK/1000 EUR is given to cover living costs, transport and expenses for materials and production during the stay. With support from the Statens Kunstfond, the Maltfabrikken, Kunsthal Aarhus and the Statens Værksteder for Art launched in 2019 a new and ambitious residency program for international visual artists in order to strengthen and create connections between the Danish and international visual art scene. As part of the program, each of the artists gets an art professional peer from Denmark, whose skills and experience match the artist's needs in order to support and challenge the residents' artistic development.
Malt AIR offers residency for two artists at a time for periods of three months.
Workshops and guest housing, as well as travel expenses and a monthly stipend, are included in the program.

Ræveskiftet includes 5 small houses with 1 room for 1-2 people and 7 family houses with 3 bedrooms, living room and kitchen for max. 6 people. Outdoor toilet. Stay in Ræveskiftet is granted free of charge for 2-week periods during the school summer holidays and 3-week periods during the rest of the time from May to the end of October, upon application. However, electricity etc. is paid for. DKK 750-2000 depending on the month. During the school summer holidays, the houses are primarily allocated to families with school-seeking children. Ræveskiftet is located in a scenic area - just under 5 km from the nearest shopping facilities and station. From Hornbæk Station there is a bus to Ræveskiftet once an hour.

Svanekegården on Bornholm has 3 artists' residences and a ceramics workshop, which is made available in the period 1 October-15. June for DKK 1.000 for the first week, then DKK 500 per week - as well as final cleaning for DKK 300. You must bring your own bed linen, towels and tea towels. In connection with the Vendsyssel Art Museum, there is a guest studio with a 1-room apartment. Artists, researchers and others can be considered for a stay of 14 days to 1 month duration. The stay is free, but in the case of visual artists, they are expected to acknowledge the stay with a self-portrait, just as the studio must be open to the museum's guests at agreed times.
Applications are sent to the museum and processed on an ongoing basis. In the application, you must explain why you want to borrow a studio and a home. CV must be attached.
