Artists' associations
Inspired by the cooperative idea, Danish artists have since the end of the 19th century organized themselves in various associations as an alternative to the established art life. At the artists' associations' own exhibitions, artists can show their work without the curators of the art institutions and other intermediaries.
COMMON UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION
Several of the associations below are organized in the umbrella organization the Council of Artists' Associations, which has a secretariat in the Visual Artists' Association:
