The board of directors, together with the chairman, constitutes the top management of the Danish Association of Visual Artists (BKF) and is tasked with ensuring that the association complies with its statutes, objectives and the decisions made at the general meeting.
The board meets six times a year for ordinary board meetings, where current issues, political agendas and the association's overall strategy are discussed and determined. The board plays a central role as a link between visual artists, political decision-makers and the wider society, and as such promotes the interests of visual artists, strengthens their working conditions and ensures a strong political and cultural voice for the visual arts in Denmark.
Board members and the Chairperson are elected at BKF's annual general meeting, where members have the opportunity to influence the composition of the top management. The election period is two years, which provides continuity in the work and time to implement strategic goals. The Chairperson leads the work of the board and acts as a central figure in the representation of the association externally.
