Between Bridges is pleased to announce the open call for the next residency for visual artists. The residency will take place from July to December 2025, consisting of a working phase and a one month exhibition or public presentation.
The sixth recipient of the next residency will follow artists Yalda Afsah, Didem Pekün, Lucy Beech, Harry Hachmeister, as well as the publishing collective Viscose.

Eligibility
The residency is suitable for professional individual visual artists, artist duos or small groups working collaboratively. One or more visual artists will be supported, though artists enrolled at a university at the time of application are not eligible to apply (excluding artists enrolled in PhD programs). The criteria for awarding the residency is primarily the quality of the application and work submitted.
Scope of residency
The residency includes the use of the facilities at Keithstraße 15 in Berlin Schöneberg on the ground floor of a residential building, with Wittenbergplatz subway station located nearby. In addition to two generous work and exhibition spaces, the facilities with a total size of 100 square meters include a workshop/storage, office, small kitchen and bathroom. We regret that the rooms are not yet wheelchair accessible or suitable for living. The residency includes a monthly stipend of 1,500 Euro. It also offers the opportunity for studio visits with art professionals from the network of Between Bridges. For the exhibition, a production budget will be granted. The exhibition or presentation will be promoted via Between Bridges’ distribution channels and documented on our website.
Application
The application consists of a CV with a portfolio (pdf file, max. 10 MB, max. 10 A4 pages including CV, if applicable with links to moving image and/or sound works), as well as a short proposal of the project and the exhibition concept (max. 250 words, max. 1 A4 page, pdf file). The maximum page number is the same for group applications. The deadline for applications is Sunday 3 November (23:59 pm CET). The documents can be submitted in German or English in an online application form via our website: www.betweenbridges.net/foundation/residency . Only digital applications are accepted. A jury will review the applications. Please note we can only contact successful applicants. The awarded resident will be notified by December 2024.

About Between Bridges
Between Bridges is a foundation (est. 2017 by Wolfgang Tillmans) committed to humanism, solidarity, and the advancement of democracy. It supports the arts, LGBTQ+ rights and anti-racism work. Between Bridges is also a non-profit exhibition space, initiated in 2006 by Wolfgang Tillmans. After its first chapter in London’s 223 Cambridge Heath Road from 2006–2011 and its second chapter in Berlin’s Keithstraße 15 (now the Artist Residency Space) from 2014–2019, its third chapter in Berlin’s Adalbertstraße 43 (now the Exhibition Space) began in July 2022.
