13.12.22 | Bulletin board

Creative Europe's pool for collaborative projects is now open again

The pool for collaborative projects supports cultural projects that are run in collaboration between partners from different European countries and that try to solve a problem that crosses national borders.

It could be, for example, that:

· reach new audience groups and make culture more accessible to marginalized citizens

· use culture to tell stories we haven't heard before

· put culture at the forefront of the green transition and develop new sustainable forms of production

The EU supports up to 80% of the project's budget, so there is a lot to gain for organizations and institutions working with culture.

The goal of the pool

To receive support, a collaborative project must contribute to fulfilling one of the following goals:

  • To strengthen the creation and dissemination of European works and artists across national borders
  • To make the creative and cultural sectors better at cultivating talent and creating innovation, jobs and growth.

When you submit your application, you must choose which of the two goals the project aims at.

The EU Commission's priorities

Applicants must choose 1-2 of the following topics that the project thematizes:

  1. Audience: to increase access to and participation in cultural life. Audience development physically as well as digitally.
  2. Social inclusion: to use culture to create inclusion in society. Especially in relation to including minorities, marginalized groups and people with disabilities.
  3. Sustainability: to develop and spread environmentally friendly practices. Using cultural activities to raise awareness of sustainability.
  4. The digital: to help the cultural sectors in Europe to develop the use of digital technologies.
  5. The international: to increase the internationalization of European cultural life – also as regards micro-organisations and grassroots organisations.
  6. Sector-specific priorities: Competence development, capacity building and training within the sectors: cultural heritage, music, books and publishing, architecture, fashion and design, sustainable cultural tourism.
