Boost your knowledge of two of the primary techniques of copper printing: line etching and aquatint.
On the course we review the basic processes and working methods in copper printing; Execution of the motif, treatment of plates, the chemistry, the printing press, printing ink and paper. The focus is on the craftsmanship, but we also look at the history and development of the methods.
A large part of the course is based on the students' mutual cooperation on the processes.

About the Teacher:
Mette Marott is a trained copper printmaker at Niels Borch Jensen in Copenhagen and has worked in the profession for over 20 years. Her practice includes, in addition to the many classic and interdisciplinary collaborations with visual artists, also teaching, workshops and masterclasses at home and abroad. She works daily from her own workshop in Copenhagen.

The course is aimed at professional visual artists and other practitioners within the aesthetic disciplines who have knowledge and understanding of graphic work processes and who have a desire to work independently with copper printing.
